Here is a list, alphabetically of course, of the coupon lingo out there. Feel free to let me know if you know of any others.
- $1/2 - $1 off of 2
- AC - After Coupon refers to the price after the coupon is deducted
- AR - After Rebate refers to the price after the rebate is deducted
- AY - All You Magazine coupon
- Blinkies - Type of coupon dispensed in the area of the product in the store. Usually from a blinking red box. Hence the name "blinkie"
- BOGO, B1G1, or B1G1F - Buy 1, Get 1 Free
- BTFE - Box Tops for Education (cut out and turn into schools for rewards towards that school)
- Catalina - A coupon dispensed at the register at the time of checkout, separately from your store receipt.
- DND - Do Not Double
- EB or ECB - ExtraCare Bucks you can use at CVS/pharmacy only.
- EXP - Expire
- FAR - Free After Rebate
- GM - General Mills (Sunday newspaper coupon insert - once a month)
- HT - Hang tag coupons hanging on a product.
- IVC - Instant Value Coupon (Found in the Walgreens Saver Catalog. Only to be used at Walgreens)
- MFR - Manufacturer (Type of coupon) A coupon that can be redeemed at majority of stores.
- MIR - Mail-In Rebate
- NED - No Expiration Date
- OOP - Out of Pocket
- OOS - Out of Stock
- OYNO - On Your Next Order
- P&G - Proctor & Gamble (Sunday newspaper coupon insert - once a month)
- Peelie - Type of coupon that you peel off packages/items.
- IP, IPQ, or Printable - Coupons that you are printable online. You can usually print these out twice.
- Q - Coupon
- Retailer Coupon- A coupon that can only be redeemed at that specific retailer.
- RC - Raincheck
- RP - Redplum (Sunday newspaper coupon insert)
- RR - Register Rewards (Catalina rewards printed out at Walgreens after checkout)
- SS - Smartsource (Sunday newspaper coupon insert)
- Stacking - Using a store coupon and a manufacturer's coupon
- TP or Tearpad - Pads with coupons or rebate forms attached and are usually located on the shelf or displayed near the advertised product. The coupons/rebates can be used in any store that accepts manufacturer's coupons.
- UPC - Universal Product Code
- WT - Winetag coupon cards or rebate cards which are placed over the neck of wine bottles or other products packaged in bottles and jars.
