Travel Size Buys

Just a little info on Travel Size Buys. Not all stores accept coupons for travel size items regardless if your coupon does not state the size. Example...I had Tide $2.00 off coupons that are just a day away from expiration. It did not state a size and it did not say that it excluded travel size. So I thought of testing it out at Target.

Target: Stated that the register didn't recognize the coupon when scanned. Also that the item that I was trying to get didn't match the PICTURE on the coupon that I was using. I tried to justify that it didn't state that I needed to get a certain size and that it just stated $2.00 off Tide. Yup so it looks like Target doesn't do the travel size items with coupons if it's not stated. I'm not sure if this goes for all Targets but it didn't work at the Honolulu Target.

Longs: Also stated the the register didn't recognize the coupon when scanned. So I explained again about how the coupon doesn't state a size. Also that when I tried purchasing Tide travel size items a few days ago that the manager just gave me a discount of how much the item actually was. This is where the "Coupon Policy" comes in handy. It states: The coupon amount will be reduced if it exceeds the value of the item after other discounts or coupons are applied. (For example, a $5.00 coupon for a $4.99 item will result in a $4.99 coupon value).

So this is my buy for travel size Tide. Didn't want my $2.00 off coupons to go to waste!

(8) Tide Powder Detergent
Regular Price $1.09 each
Total with Tax $9.13
Less (8) Coupons $8.72 (marked at $1.09 each)
New Total $0.41

(2) Tide Liquid Detergent

Less (2) Coupons $3.98 (marked at $1.99 each)

Not too bad for coupons that were about to expire!

Price Matching at Target

Took a little walk this morning over to my friendly Target store for a PRICE MATCH!! Take note that when you go and do a price match at Target, that you need to take the Current Competitors Ad with you. Also make sure that the pictured item in the competitors ad is the EXACT same one that you're price matching. FYI price matching is done at the CUSTOMER SERVICE desk at Target.

So today I price matched with Don Quijote (DQ). DQ has Orajel Toddler Toothpaste selling for $0.98 each. What a deal since I have a soon to be 2 year old that seems to love the taste of toothpaste. Also needed to pick up some floss as well. So this is what I got.

(5) Orajel Toddler Toothpaste, 1.5oz
Regular Price $3.54 each
Total with Tax $18.53
PM with DQ Total with Tax $5.13
Less (5) $1 off coupons $5.00

(4) Oral B Floss, 50 yd

Starting Off

Well I've been using coupons ever since my Nan passed on the shopping list to me and my cousin. That would be about 20 years ago I guess. And since then I've been cutting coupons from time to time. I keep them in a little organizer that fits perfectly in my bag. Sometimes I forget the organizer at home and sometimes I surpise myself when I find it in there during shopping trips. To this day I never would have thought that couponing could be so intense and also addicting at the same time. Boy was I in for a big surprise!!

Got the binder, got the baseball card holders, got the index dividers, and tons and tons of coupons to cut!!
